A message from myself in 2030

Write a message from yourself in 2030 to yourself now. What would you like to say to you and your generation? Write about 10 sentences. See the details in one of the previous posts. Don't forget to comment on other students' ideas.

Thank you for staying at home and thinking about others. Take care of you and your families.

Agenda for this week is:

1. Do exercises on Unit 6 in your Grammar Book. 
2. On April 29, Wednesday we'll try to have a Zoom lesson with each class. You'll be able to ask questions on Unit 6 and we'll also talk about food. Download zoom.us to your computer, tablet or phone in advance. I'll send you an invitation in our homework on the blog.
3. Participate in the blog discussions. The first one will be "A letter from myself in 2030". You will get marks for them. Write about 10 sentences.
4. Optional. Write an essay for the International contest (see the previous post) and upload it onto schools.by. Everybody who writes it will get a '10'.
5. The Grammar Test on Unit 6 will be on April 30.
6. If you have any questions, ask them in your comments on this post.

Essay Contest

This annual essay contest is organized in an effort to harness the energy, creativity and initiative of the world's youth in promoting a culture of peace and sustainable development. Theme: “A Letter from Myself in 2030”

Imagine what an ideal world ten years from now would be like. Write a letter from yourself in 2030 to your present (2020) self, in which you describe the state of the world, the way people are living, and what you, yourself, are doing in society. In addition, include any important message that you might wish to tell your present self.

Essays must be 700 words or less.

Essays must be original and unpublished. Plagiarized entries will be rejected.

21 February is International Mother Language Day

According to UNESCO, the Belarusian language belongs to the group of languages ​​that are threatened with extinction. In the Atlas of world languages ​​in danger, it is designated as vulnerable. This is the first of four steps on the path to extinction.

According to statistics, on average only 3% of respondents do this. But an average of 43.5% of the population speaks the so-called "trasianka". People use it to communicate in stores, with friends, in the family. But about 18.5% read publications in the Belarusian language.

• Why do you think so few Belarusians speak Belarusian?
• What will happen to our language in a few years? How can we avoid the extinction of our language?
